During my artist residency stay at Buinho Creative Hub, I made two smellscapes about this beautiful little town in the midst of Portugal. During this month I had a deep connection to the color purple. The whole town was feeling very purple to me, sometimes it was a red-ish purple, and another times it was a blue-ish purple. These are two paintings, the first one captures the purple feeling in the surroundings of the town; the second painting captures the stormy feeling at Igreja Matriz up on the hill, where I almost every evening watched the sunset.
